Ample has become a unicorn

Ample, a startup that ENEOS invested in, raised $30 million in its Series C-1 round from Blackstone, etc. and became a unicorn*. Ample, which develops battery swapping technology for electric vehicles, partnered with Uber and currently operates its service in California. Through expanding its partnership and utilizing the funds that it raised, it will expand its service into European countries. ENEOS made a strategic investment in Ample in February 2020 and plans to conduct a POC for the battery swapping service in Japan.

*A unicorn refers to a private company that was established less than 10 years ago and is valued at over $1 billion.
